RESILIENCE AS A SPIRITUAL PRACTICE FOR OUR TIMES

Sometimes it's hard to see the forest through the trees. Personal tragedy, world events, and other woundings make it hard for us to heal let alone thrive. In the last few years, so many things have contributed to the turbulence of our souls. God's heart is for us and the world to receive the emotional healing offered through Christ. More than that, God's heart is that we walk through life being able to recover and bounce back from traumatic events. His provision through the cross is that we experience the same resilience he had.

Isaiah 53 of the Message Bible talks about His resilience so beautifully. I have found it to be much more than a scripture on physical healing!

“He was looked down on and passed over, a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand. One look at Him and people turned away. We looked down on him, thought He was scum.

But the fact is, it was our pains He carriedour disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. We thought He brought it on himself, that God was punishing him for his own failures. But it was our sins that did that to Him, that ripped and tore and crushed him—our sins! He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises, we get healed.”

Jesus understood the rejections we face. Jesus understood emotional pain as well as physical pain. He understood what it was like to be considered a failure. He understood being judged, left alone, and abandoned. He identified with our humanity so that we can be healed emotionally also.

With all that's going on in our world, you probably know someone, or you are overwhelmed, anxious, hurting, and desperate for something to stabilize you. Something to alleviate the emotional pain.

The Resiliency Coaches Training course will allow you to receive emotional healing and support, while you're training to be a coach. Jesus had a way of honoring the hurting. The very least we can do is honor each other's pain, show up for ourselves and walk alongside one another with compassion.

Ask God, how can I partner with you to bring healing to the nations? Then get quiet and listen. Notice if there's a stirring going on inside.

It just may be you're one God wants to raise up for such a time as this. If so, consider joining me for the fall Resiliency Coaches Training. Here's what you'll learn and practice in this14 week certified course.
